As part of Coach Matt’s 15-year Navy career, he completed the rigorous Navy Raven program and earned his purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Professor Gustavo Machado. He trained internationally while deployed with the Navy, competed in Grappling Industries, and earned gold medals in competition. He has also competed in multiple submission-only superfights. He now holds a brown belt under Kru Bruce. Coach Matt has a deep passion for learning and for passing on Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu knowledge to his students.
